Wisconsin native and Brooklyn transplant John DeLore maintains the rural textures of home, blending them elegantly with life amongst concrete, steel and strangers. DeLore writes catchy songs with easy melodies and his gravelly, soulful voice echoes Dr. John and Patrick Sweaney. It’s Americana mixed with traditional rock and the sentiments are tangible like dirty hands, while a fair amount of restraint leads to ambiance and warmth. DeLore never boils over, making sure to simmer like butter on a hot plate.

Fair Game with Faith Salie takes the day's news and entertainment stories, blows them up, and puts them back together again -- all in one glorious hour. The final show's music guest is The Reverend John Delore. No, it's not a preacher who's found a way to make communion wafers more environmentally friendly – though that would be the sort of story they'd cover. He's a musician who fits vaguely under the umbrella of rock, blues, Appalachia, and Americana. He's the regular sound engineer for Fair Game, except for today when I filled in.
